SEO or PPC which is the best option to choose

SEO and PPC seem to be very different strategies. So for a startup or other business - which is the best option to choose? As I am a digital marketer, I understand SEO and PPC both have their fans and detractors, but what many people don’t realize is that they work best together.

SEO means Search Engine Optimization. It is a process of improving your websites ranking for targeted keywords on SERP (Search Engine Result Page). Learn more: Understand Search Engine Optimization

PPC means Pay Per Click. It is a process of running advertisements on Google. It is basically a paid strategy. Learn more: Learn Adwords

Why should you consider both?

SEO gets long-term results, but if you need to get something immediately, SEO and PPC together combine a quick hit with a long-term growth. PPC ads give you a fast result. You should run a PPC campaign first. Then use SEO to get long-term traffic.

SEO is long-lasting, but PPC is instant and temporary. If you want to show results right away, use PPC. If you don’t want them to disappear the minute you stop paying for the keywords, SEO is the way to go.

So it a good choice to do SEO and PPC work together? You can start by including PPC in your research process: when you come up with a list of keywords to target, use SEO and improve their ranking.

When you’re choosing how to implement an SEO and PPC campaign, there are plenty of concerns to take into account. Overall in a nut-shell both are required for a successful digital marketing campaign.

Let's discuss - Why not use PPC?

  • If you don't have budgets to run ADs: Here you need to spend in order to run your ads. As the name suggest PPC - Pay Per Click. It's a Part of Adwords.
  • If you have lot of time and don't require instant results
  • If you are a blogger
  • If you are social media freak

Let's discuss - Why not use SEO?

  • There are no particular reasons to not to use SEO - but if your company is not legitimate and providing services which are not legal. Then it's better to run your ADs rather than going into SEO. Guy's you know what I am talking about! ha ha ha
